Alternative Provision at Cornerstone Learning

Cornerstone Learning is a registered alternative provision in Hampshire.

We can provide alternative provision for children in EYFS and Key stage 1 with complex needs, who may be struggling to cope in mainstream education and are unable to attend school full time.

Sessions include:

● Indoor free play
● Story time
● Snack
● Attention Autism group
● Lunch time
● Sensory circuits
● Sensory room
● Song time
● Structured play development activities

Although we encourage children to join in all activities, we recognise that some learners are not yet ready for some of our more structured times. Sessions are very much led by the childs ability to access and demands are kept to a level where the child is able to maintain regulation with or without support.

Although each child is unique we often support children who:

● Are unable to communicate their needs effectively
● Struggle with aspects of a mainstream setting
● Have difficulty following adult-led activities
● Have difficulty establishing relationships with peers
● Find the social world challenging and overwhelming
● Engage in emotional behaviour when their needs are not met
